Following information is updated or validated once every winter navigation season, unless otherwise mentioned. This information is covering the reporting procedures, ice navigation instructions, training and courses regarding the Baltic Sea area.

Special remarkVessels in the Gulf of Finland of 300 GT or more are required to report to the GOFREP Traffic Centre. A vessel stuck in ice must notify the icebreaker of its position without delay.-

The following organizations in Baltic Sea region provide ice navigation courses.

Before linking the contact information to the baltice.org web pages, a course organizer should contact by e-mail winternavigation@ftia.fi. The course will then be evaluated by BIM according to certificate and references.
